WASHINGTON, D.C. - The President made an announcement Thursday to a stunned nation.
"I am temporarily giving up my duties of the presidency to Joe Biden so that I can spend 100 percent of my time campaigning across this great nation for the upcoming election. I just hope Joe will be okay."
Those are not words of overwhelming confidence from the Commander-in-Chief, but Biden seems to have seized the moment.
"This is going to be a blast! You know what it feels like when you huff whipped cream from a can? That's what I feel like right now," Biden told White House reporters.
Needless to say, Republicans are not embracing the idea of Obama shirking his responsibilities and putting the V.P. in charge. House Speaker John Boehner was even left speechless.
"I am speechless," he said. Boehner continued, "How can you just stop being the President?"
Obama did his best to answer Boehner. "Just watch me. Campaigning is my thing. Everyone just needs to chill out."
The Obama camp has already designed vintage tees to support the effort which will be on sale on Obama's official website. The shirts come in short and long-sleeve styles and will brandish the Summer 2012 Obamania Tour logo on the front and back.
